We are living in the end times, and people can no longer endure sound doctrines. The love for this present world has made many people deny their faith in Christ.

Many people feel keeping a relationship with God is not relevant anymore. They now believe more in science than the infallible word of God.

There is no better time to seek how to build a better relationship with God than now. Our salvation is nearer than when we first believe. The events of happenings in the world are confirming what has been foretold in the scriptures.

The Bible also talks about destructions and natural disasters that will visit the earth before the end comes. The ravaging pandemic is a pointer to this, a warning that all of us must heed.

When you strengthen your relationship with God, you will be able to face anything that is coming. The Bible says that those who know their God shall be strong and do exploits, Daniel 11:32 even while others are dying.

When you are right with God, nothing else matters. You cant be fully content without running to Him each day and letting Him fill the hole in your heart.

When you love God unconditionally, you are showing to him that you are ready to do His bidding no matter how difficult it may be.

Remember Abraham. He loved God to the point of wanting to sacrifice his son to obey. Through that effort, he became the father of faith. He received eternally irreversible blessings.

Love is the purest and most sincere feeling in the world. Those who love someone or something never want to see them come to harm.

That is why we try so hard to keep those we care about safe and happy, but what about God?

Does he need our help? Is there a way we can strengthen our relationship with him and show him how much we love him?

Show Love To People Around You.

Loving your neighbors means respecting their beliefs and celebrating their customs.

It means appreciating the fact that they are different from you, even though you share many things in common.

In the Gospel of Luke, chapter 10, verses 25 to 37, Jesus teaches us to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Meaning that when you love your neighbor you will not defraud or do any evil against him.

The Bible gives a lot of attention to the importance of loving others.

We should be ready to help those who are in need beçause these are our neighbors as we see in the story of the good Samaritan.

Love Your Family

Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 1 John 4:20 NIV

The importance of family is emphasized by God in the Bible.

He wants us to love our family because it will help us to be better human beings.

Unfortunately, many people don’t value their families as much as they should. When you love someone, you want to spend time with them and show your affection for them.

When you feel closer to your significant other, kids, parents, siblings etc., it makes them feel special and loved too. That strengthens the bond between you all.

A strong family is the foundation of a great society. The more cohesive and loving your family is, the happier and more successful you will be.

It is important to form a loving relationship with God. It is equally important for us to love our families.

We can strengthen our relationship with God by strengthening our relationships at home.

Love Your Spouse

Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. Ephesians 5:33 NKJV

God gave you your spouse as a companion who is to help you fulfill God’s mandate on earth.

Everyone talks about the importance of love in marriage. We all agree that it is important.

But we don’t know what it means to love our spouse as Christ loved the Church. The Bible has a lot to say about this.

Jesus set an example for us by laying down his life for the church. The Bible encourages men to love their wives like that.

Women are equally admonished to honor their husbands. When we obey these instructions, our prayers will not be hindered.

We will enjoy peace of mind that will make us draw closer to God with gratitude of hearts for the companion He provided us.

Know God Intimately

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8 NIV

It doesn’t matter what religion you practice, how spiritual you are, or how often you worship. If you want to strengthen your relationship with God, the most important thing is to know him.

If you don’t know who he is or what he expects of you, it will be very difficult for him to help you in times of need.

But if your relationship with God is built on a foundation of knowing Him, then he can act as your guide and protector through life’s difficulties.

Beware of Prosperity Mindset

No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money. Matthew 6:24 NLT

Our society is constantly telling us that we can be more successful and happier by giving God a lower priority.

The message of prosperity without necessarily having salvation is gaining ground faster in this present time.

People focus more on the portion of the Bible that talks about blessings without making effort to earn them God’s way.

Instead, we need to focus on seeking God’s kingdom above all else. That is how to build a better relationship with God.

If we place serving money above serving God, then of course we will be unhappy. We will always come up short in gaining more of what we don’t ultimately need or desire.

But if you put the Lord first in everything He will see to it that prosperity will run after you and not vice versa.

Refrain From Worldly Things

Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 1 John 2:15 NLT

A lot of people have a relationship with God that is lacking in strength because they choose to give their attention and love to other things.

To strengthen your relationship, you should refrain from the world.

The world is the material thing that many people are craving today. It could be money, fame, power, pleasure, and such.

Satan is using these things to trap people by making them believe that they are the things that matter in life.

Anyone who loves the world cannot have the capacity to love God. We must strive to resist the urge to list after the things of the world. 1 John 2:15-17

Live In Total Obedience

Jesus Christ said: If you love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15)

This scripture is very clear about the relationship between obeying God and strengthening your walk with Him.

When we obey His commandments, we strengthen our relationship with Him.

When we don’t obey His commandments, that distance grows wider.

It is vital to our relationship with God that we are not just living in sin with no intention of repenting but rather that we have forsaken our sinful life to embrace the new life that he gives to us.

Depart From Evil

Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. Psalm 34:14 KJV

We all have a relationship with our creator and we should seek to strengthen that relationship by stopping evil.

We can stop performing evil deeds, praying for those who do evil, and avoiding people who commit evil acts.

Anyone who refuses to obey God is evil. The more we commit evil, the farther away from God we would be.

His eyes are so pure that they cannot behold evil, hence we cannot remain in sin and expect His grace to abound over our lives.

God is on the side of the righteous.

He will help, bless, protect, and deliver them because they know how to build a better relationship with God.

Work out your salvation with diligence. (Philippians 2:12 ESV)

It is easy to think of our salvation as a secured possession, but it’s not.

It’s a process and one that we need to be working diligently at every day.

The Bible says we should do it with trembling and fear, meaning that we must not be overconfident of our achievements in our service to God.
