Description Of The Mark
The mark of the beast is a sign of allegiance to the Antichrist. It represents those who have decided to reject God and His divine purpose for their lives and follow after the man of evil called the Antichrist.
This mark is represented by the number 666 as revealed by the Bible. The implication is that anyone that receives it cannot receive the mercy of God. They have been permanently separated from God’s plan for man’s salvation.
The blood of Jesus that was shed for this purpose can no longer save them because they have been branded for the devil.
Revelation 14:9-11 (ESV) states, “If anyone worships the beast and its image, and receives its mark on their forehead or their hand, they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath.”
To take this mark is not an option for anyone who wants to escape the wrath of God. His judgment is already pronounced against such an act. It is the height of idolatry and ungodliness.
From the passage above the Bible says the wrath of God against those who receive the mark will be at full strength. That is too difficult to describe because no one can imagine how the full strength of the wrath of the Almighty God can be.
One thing is certain, those who would fall victim to this punishment would wish they had not been born because it is going to be everlasting.

Revelation 13:16-18: “It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666.”
The mark is a form of branding or logo which the Bible says is the name of the beast or the number of his name. We have heard of some people who sold their hearts to the devil to get wealth, fame, or power.
What will happen to those who take the branding of the beast will be similar only that it will be at the highest form of soul capture the world had ever seen.
It will be total and irrevocable, with terrible eternal consequences.
Revelation 14:9-11: “If anyone worships the beast and its image, and receives its mark on their forehead or their hand, they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment will rise forever and ever. No one who takes the mark will escape the judgment of God. To give eternal punishment is nothing to God because He is eternal.
Some people cannot picture God doing this because they see Him as too merciful to watch His creatures going through excruciating pains for endless years.
Such people forget that the Bible calls Him the consuming fire. When we go through the Bible we will see some instances where God showed us a bit of His anger.
Like when He drowned the Egyptians in the red sea. We can imagine how terrified the poor soldiers would be as they see the sea closing in on them. God was looking and laughing at their foolishness.
He did the same when He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah with fire falling from heaven
How painful that would have been. In the time of judgment, God does not remember mercy, but before then we have the grace to repent, change our ways, and escape His wrath, otherwise, it will surely come.
Revelation 15:2: “And I saw what looked like a sea of glass glowing with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and its image and the number of its name. They held harps given them by God.”
Some people will escape. Those who refuse to take the mark. Those who used their blood to pay for their salvation. Such people would be tortured by the beast and his henchmen.
They would pass through unimaginable suffering that far surpassed what the early martyrs went through at the hands of the enemies of the church.
If they endure to the end and refuse to take the mark, they will escape the wrath of God that will come upon others who took it.
Revelation 16:2: “The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly, festering sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.”
The time the Antichrist will reign on earth is called the time of the great tribulation. It is the time that follows the rapture of the saints.
A time that God will vent His anger upon the earth since He had successfully taken His beloved away to heaven in rapture.
Those that will be on Earth at this time are the “left behinds.” They will comprise Christians who cannot make rapture and other people who did not believe in God. Together, they will all pass through a temporary judgment that God will bring upon the earth.
Angels that have been assigned will pour the fury of God upon the earth in form of all kinds of sicknesses, diseases, natural disasters, and other untold evils. The world will be filled with pain, and all man-made solutions will fail.
Revelation 19:20: “But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs, he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.”
When the Antichrist emerges, he will appear to be invincible. That is one of the reasons why people will believe him and worship him.
They will see him as the messiah because he will be able to perform miracles signs and wonders and bring solutions to many problems facing the world.
This will make many people willingly follow him and reject God.
The Bible says when his time is up, he will be captured, together with his false prophet, another evil personality who will work together with him and make people serve him through all kinds of deceits.
These are truths that will surely come to pass. They are information that we dare not ignore. We need to pray and do all that we can to avoid them. The best and easiest way to do that is to make rapture.

Looking down history lane, people have interpreted the mark of the beast to mean different things. Their interpretations go along powerful political and religious systems that had existed in history since the time that the message become public.
Some people said the mark represents the Roman empire, the government that was dominant during the time that John wrote the book of Revelation.
The Roman government led by their emperors sorely persecuted the Christians throughout their government periods. They did everything to exterminate Christianity including torturing and killing Christians in many horrible ways.
Most of the disciples of Jesus and many other Christians and their families died in the persecution.
John the writer of the book of Revelation had a taste of the evil. He miraculously survived death through boiling oil in a basin, and he was banished to an Island called Patmos in the southern part of the Aegean Sea. It was there that God showed him what will happen at the end of times.
Some people also interpreted the mark to mean the Catholic Church. A religious organization that wielded great political and religious power in the early centuries.

We must avoid and reject any religious teaching contrary to what is in the Bible. We are in the last days, and many false prophets and teachings are springing up.
We must be careful because the Bible says if it shall be possible even the very elect shall be deceived. It is difficult to separate lies from the truth these days.
Many people are walking into bondage and error with their eyes fully open because they like following popular trends. We must be sober, vigilant, watch, and pray so that such will not be our lot.
