Who Is Jesus

Jesus is God who manifested on earth as the son of God, in order to save humanity from the bondage of sin (Matthew 1:21).

A serious problem came up when Adam and Eve, in obedience to the voice of the devil ate the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden.

Anyone looking at what they did would think, the sin was not a serious one, just an act of eating fruit.

As simple as that act may be, it made man to hand over the authority, and dominion that God have given him to the devil willingly.

It made the devil to be the master and lord over him, and over all God’s creation on earth.

It was a very pathetic situation, and that was why God was very angry with them.

He drove them out of the garden so that they will not venture to go and eat the fruit of the second tree in the midst of the garden, the tree of life.

Eating that fruit with their sinful nature would have created a permanent problem, because it means man would not be able to die anymore.

Imagine that those who had lived from the time of Adam to still remain alive till today, that is serious and unimaginable overpopulation, wickedness, and several forms of hardship for humanity.

Death came as a relief, because once a man dies, that ends all what he has been doing whether good or bad.

God cannot allow the post- Eden situation to continue, otherwise the whole creation is doomed forever.

Adam was created to be the father of all that is living, he is not just an ordinary being, he is to reproduce himself in all the humans that will be born into the world.

Whatever is in Adam will come into existence in all humans, and that is where the sinful nature of man comes from.

From that time till now, everybody is born into this world a sinner, and there is nothing we can do about that.

The only solution to the problem would be to bring in someone who does not have the nature of Adam, to come and remove the effects of Adamic sin.

That is, since this sinful nature came into the world through one man, it has to be removed through one man, the right man (1 Corinthians 15:21).

There is no man qualified for such, since we all take after Adam, we all carry his nature. Everybody is a sinner (Romans 3:23).

God had to stepped in, to save the situation, and clear the mess that man has put upon himself.

God according to his eternal plan, has to condescend to our level in order to save us.

It does not cost him anything to wipe out the whole humanity, and create another creatures as replacement, but he decided to show mercy.

In his sovereignty, he revealed himself and relate with man in three distinct personalities.

God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

This three personalities who are one, work together to make a perfect redemption for man.

When we consider this critically, we can begin to see who is the father of Jesus Christ.

Who Is The Father Of Jesus Christ According To The Gospel

The birth of Jesus was a miraculous one.

God knows that people will always wonder, who is the father of Jesus Christ?, hence he made the accounts of his birth to be recorded in the four gospels in the bible.

Anyone who reads the gospel of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John will discover that they are not exactly the same, even though they are telling the same story.

God made it so, that they can cover different aspects and areas of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.

The coming of Jesus and the account of his birth were foretold by the prophets in the old testament, long before he came into the world.

These alone are enough to give the right answer to anyone asking, who is the father of Jesus Christ.

It was one of these prophecies that the scribes brought up when the Three Wise Men came to Jerusalem, following the great star that they saw in their country.

The bible recorded that Angel Gabriel came to virgin Mary who had been betrothed to Joseph, and told her that without any man touching her she would conceive and give birth to a son.

Mary was not a little surprised to hear that, and she asked how can that be.

The angel told her that the power of God will come upon her, and she will become pregnant, and later give birth to the son of God.

Joseph knew that the child in the womb of Mary couldn’t have been his son since he has not met with her, hence he secretly planned to separate from her.

God had to stepped in again to explain the situation to him.

All of these are clearly stated in the bible, for all of us to know who is the father of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Called God Father

Throughout his earthly ministry, Jesus called God Father.

He was fully subjected to him, and did all things according to God the father’s directive.

There was no where in the bible where Joseph was refered to as his father.

When he was 12 years old, he went to Jerusalem with Joseph and Mary his mother for annual religious worship (Luke 2:41-52).

After the ceremony, they were coming back home together with other families when they suddenly discovered that Jesus was not in their midst.

They sought for him for three days before they finally found him in the temple having discussions with the temple leaders.

When they questioned him about his action, without any remorse Jesus told them that he was doing his father’s work.

Joseph did not go further to ask him, which work and which father, he already knew who the father was.

They quietly took him from there, he followed them home and was subject to them.

God, who is the father of Jesus Christ needed somebody as a father figure for him here on earth, so that he can grow in a normal family set up.

That was the role that Joseph played.

The bible went further to tell us that Joseph and Mary gave birth to other children which are; James, Joses, Jude, Simon, and some girls which are not mentioned (Mark 6:3; Matthew 12:55-56).
